Master Bedroom Reveal

The last room in the house. Finished. How we turned a whole STATE of a house into this beautiful building we’ve called home in under a year I don’t know (actually I do know, A LOT of hard work and A LOT of money). But at last the Master Bedroom is complete and I can finally sleep happy knowing the ceilings aren’t going to crack and fall down in our sleep.

Style-wise we knew we wanted something that matched in with the rest of the house. We have huge skirting boards and lovely coving, but we longed for something a little more. That’s when we decided – Picture rail! It felt like the master bedroom needed something with a little extra wow compered to the other two bedrooms. We’re so I love with our master bedroom and every night I say to Bradley that I feel like we’re in a hotel room.

After painting Theodore’s toddler bedroom green we knew that was the colour for us (we’ve actually painted the guest bedroom a shade of green too now)! We’ve gone a shade darker than Theodore’s room though. The paint is Valspar’s Colour Match of Farrow and Balls ‘Green Smoke’ if you wanted to get it yourself. Its the perfect shade of green for us, especially alongside the white picture rail and upwards.

We decided to do away with traditional bedside tables and go for something a little different. Barstools! These were so cheap at only £18 (super cheap if you compare to decent bedside tables) each but they look amazing and almost bespoke. We never used our drawers in our previous side tables and they actually would just end up full of junk, which Theodore loved to empty out onto our bedroom floor on the daily. It’s now much easier to have a clean tidy space.

I had decided early on that a bold printed bed cover was what this room needed. Once the colour was on the walls the room lacked pattern. The lovely people at Adam Home sent us the gorgeous Umbra duvet cover set. It’s so soft and absolutely perfect for summer as its made from just such a cooling material. This is one of those duvet covers I’m going to be washing and putting straight back on every time.

The three huge framed prints were gifted from Desenio, I’ve worked with them in the past and have their prints hung all around our house now. You might have seen the huge prints in our living room in a post I did a couple of months ago about Sprucing Up Your Home. The three posters we’ve added to this room are called Aquarelle Flower, The Letter and Line Heart. They all work beautifully together, we decided to go for prints with a lot of white space in so that it would break up the larger blocks of green and it’s done that just perfectly. If you want to get these prints yourself or fancy having a browse through their 100’s of other posters the use my code “CAITYLIS” and it’ll give you 25% off prints* on all Desenio sites until midnight 29 August. Follow Desenio on Instagram for more inspiration!

Do you love it as much as we do?! I’m still in disbelief that this is actually ours. I never thought we’d be able to create such a beautiful space to call our own. There are still some finishing touches to be done like a ceiling fan, matching bedside lamps, blinds, a door for our built in cupboard, the list goes on! The house seems to be full of little jobs that just need ticking off, eventually we’ll get there but for now I’m fully going to enjoy this wonderful space.
