Finally, a toddler bedroom that screams Theodore. Living in our studio flat previously we never got the chance to create a nursery for Theodore. We lived there until he was 6 months old, and then moved here to our first home. If you’ve been following our house journey you’ll know it’s been long progress. Both in getting the house/mortgage and fixing it up. I’m so happy to say that this room is 98% complete (we still need to strip and re-paint the bedroom door). He is loving playing in here, having access to all his toys and books, and, well, basically trashing the place. I wouldn’t have it any other way! I’m actually enjoying sitting in here with him now. It’s so light and relaxing, compared to the blue and white woodchip walls he had before, and the old muddy crusty carpet, both gone. The luxury of the new carpet? Wow. I love just walking around barefoot in there.
The lovely people at Valspar kindly sent us some vouchers so that we could use some of their gorgeous high-quality paint in here. If you’re interested in our colour choices then here they are: The green was a colour match of Farrow & Ball, , and the off white was a pre-selected colour of Valspar called Coconut Juice.
We’ve still got a few little extras we want to eventually buy but money is tight right now. We’d love to get him the Ikea Toddler and 3 of the to use as bookshelves eventually. But that can all come in good time.
We didn’t really choose a theme for his room. We just knew we wanted a peaceful green and natural wood pieces to give the room an earthy feel. We didn’t want to have to buy any extra decor pieces right now so we just worked with what we already owned. The only extra bits we bought was a new curtain pole and the wooden shelves. We’d love to go out and pick some super cute prints but again it’ll have to wait for another day.
I’m currently knitting him some bunting in cream, mustard and brown to go up ultimately too. But for now, it’s perfect…

I’ve never been more proud of a room we’ve created. I just love it from top to bottom. I half wish I could sleep in there (unlike the current mattress on the floor in the spare room!). I also want to run around the whole house with a can of this green paint, and I think I would if Bradley would let me. I’ve always been afraid of putting anything other than grey or white on the wall. Now I’m ready to paint the whole house head to toe in colour!
I’ve tried to tag most the items photographed so you can go grab them yourselves. But if there is something you’ve seen that hasn’t been mentioned just throw me a comment below.
I really hope you all love this room as much as me. Don’t you just think it’s perfect for our Theodore?

Thank you! First is the Melissa and Doug Stack & Sort Board. The wooden blocks are from House of Marbles which you can find on Amazon. And the chunky wooden puzzle was a Facebook find with no brand name on, sorry!
