Theodore at 5 months

Another month slips through my fingers. I think I’ve finally come to the realisation that time won’t slow down, the realisation that my baby will just get older and older no matter how much I wish time would just pause and let me take it all in for a little longer. But saying that everyday is just as exciting as the last. I love to see his face every morning, how refreshed and happy he is. His big morning smile which beams back at me comes only with love. I can feel myself in his heart now, the connection and bond between us has taken on to new levels and its honestly magical. How could two people love each other so much without one conversation between us, how could two people love each other so much after only 5 months together.

I couldn’t have asked for a more spectacular child. He fills my whole heart and even starts to over fill into my body. What a magical thing, becoming a mother. I am so ready to raise this child and teach him everything I know and more. To show him how to be the best possible version of himself. I am ready.

Size

Theodore has now left the 0-3 club (waaaaah!) and is now wearing all 3-6month clothes. I can actually put him in t-shirts now since he’s all pretty much in proportion now and doesn’t just look like a weird old mini man in clothes, he looks like a proper little boy in proper little boys clothes.

I have a feeling he might not be putting on the weight he so needs too. I desperately need to get him re-weighed at the end of the month since it’s been around 4 weeks now since his last check. I would assume he is still in the 25th. His reflux is still pretty bad, but he has improved in how much milk he is taking at a time now.

Development

We have a sitter. Last month we had a roller, now he has suddenly progressed to sitting? How? I don’t know. He can’t pull himself up to sit, but he will sit if you put him up. He also rolls from front to back and back to front whenever he so feels, so eyes are never off him now. He has also found his new favourite toy, his feet. All day everyday he will happily play with his feet, or pull off his socks, which ever her prefers that day. We have not progressed to feet to mouth yet, but I’m sure that won’t take long.

He’s also had a few nibbles/licks/tastes of food the past week or so. We’ve also been letting him play with a few bits of food, to hopefully get him round to the idea of it all. He played with some cooked spaghetti a couple of nights ago, it went in the mouth but he pushed it all out with his tongue. He’s also had a few licks of ice lollies which he is LOVING. But, I’ve come to the realisation that he is going to want to eat everything I eat when it comes round to it, which is NOT cool.

His teeth are pushing themselves further and further out of his gums. Still nothing has torn through but the huge white lumps are certainly showing. Although I can’t take a guess at which will show itself first, but he seems to be dealing with them pretty well. He’s dribbling a tonne and chewing on everything but attitude wise he still hasn’t been effected… yet!

Character

What a funny happy little boy. He makes me giggle all day long. He just looks so intrigued at everything, and I just like to try work out what he’s thinking about. He is exploring toys a lot more now, and he enjoys chewing on his Sophie the giraffe very much. His sleep has got so brilliant as well, we couldn’t be more pleased. He goes down to bed around 6:30pm after his bottle and bath. We then wake him again for a little dream feed at around 9pm so he’s nice and full for the night. He’ll then wake up around 6/7am. I love seeing his little face in the morning, he’s so happy to see us beaming down on him whilst he has his huge morning stretch.

I can tell this little boy is going to be such a charmer once he gets a little older. He is pure goodness in a bottle and I just want to squeeze him tight forever. His laugh is so contagious, he loves singing row row row your boat, and throwing his head back with every row, that I do think one day his head might just roll off.

In 4 weeks he’ll be half a year old. I can’t even wrap my head around that. My precious little newborn, my precious little bump. Why does time have to speed by like this?

Oh my goodness how is he 5 months already, that has flown by so quickly. But as ever, he’s the cutest little baby. I love when they start developing a little character and being their own little person. My lady is turning into a big girl who is full of sass, but she’s also so funny, kind and very caring.
