Missing Majorca

This is a collaborative post.

Now Spring is approaching I’m starting to get into that ‘holiday mood’, usually around this time of year we would look into booking and planning our summer holiday. But life is different now, firstly we’ve got our tiny Theodore to take into consideration PLUS we’re spending all our money on life’s biggest purchase this year… a new house!

The realisation that we won’t be taking a holiday abroad this year has only just started to sink in. We probably won’t be able to afford it for the next couple of years at least *cries*. So, I’ve found myself day-dreaming of our holiday from last year, swiping through our photographs, trying to reach in for that warm summers breeze and to get a whiff of that pure ocean smell.

Majorca is a beautiful place, it’s so intimate and welcoming, you get a real feel of community, when you step off the plane the air gives you a big hug and automatically makes you go “aaaaaaah…”. I came to the realisation that I never spoke about our trip to Majorca on the blog last year. We traveled to Majorca in the 8th week of my pregnancy with Theodore, luckily I was on medication for my awful morning sickness by this point, which meant I had a happy non-sicky holiday (hurrah!). It did obviously mean I couldn’t drink, but this didn’t bother me too much, I am certainly not an alcohol fan.

We treasured this holiday massively, as we knew it would be our last for a while since we were welcoming a new addition to our family later on in the year. We did plan on returning to Majorca four months later in the September because we loved it that much, but my pregnancy got difficult and I was quite large by that point too, so we sadly didn’t go a second time round.

I mean come on, how beautiful is this place. It’s just full of shades of beautiful colour, clear blue skies and clear blue seas. I could have happily stayed another whole week if I could have done. We loved lounging around the pool and taking walks along the beach, the sand slipping between our toes as we took our morning walks.

I’ve been to many Spanish Islands and areas of Spain itself, but Majorca has to be the most peaceful of them all, I would recommend it to anyone who was thinking of taking a trip abroad. Long or short stay it would certainly be worth your while.

Hot dogs or legs? Obviously legs… as hot dogs don’t have feet, pale and pastey as ever but still, laying in all my white translucent glory. I loved sleeping the days away on the sun beds by the beach, hearing the waves crash against the shore. This holiday feels like a life time ago because we didn’t have Theodore then. My whole life before Theodore feels like it never existed. Was this really me laying around asleep under a book…? I can’t imagine being at that stage in life where I get to completely relax like I did in Majorca again… all our next holidays will be full of shouting giggling kids, getting splashed by the pool and buying Theodore endless amounts of ice-cream. But, I wouldn’t mind any of that if it was back in Majorca.

If Majorca is somewhere you’d be interested in taking your next well deserved break, book Majorca with Holiday Gems, for great priced holidays including flights and hotels to the Balearic Islands. I really hope we get to go again in the next couple of years, we have great friends that moved out there who we love to go visit, and taking Theodore to meet them one day would just be amazing.

Have you been to Majorca before? What did you think of the beautiful island?
