Master Suite Inspiration

This is a collaborative post.

Interior Design, I love it, can’t get enough of it, I would play The Sims for hours just building the home before drowning the sims in the pool. That’s what I’m most excited about when we move, the design and style aspect (not drowning anyone in a pool), I can’t wait to start making a house our home. Like I mentioned in my Hello 2018 post we’re buying our first home this year (EEK!) and we CANNOT wait to get the process started in the next month.

There will be plenty of home inspiration and design posts appearing on the blog over this next year. We plan on purchasing a dooer-upper so I’ll be sharing that all with you. But for now I’ll be sharing our hopes in terms of design, which we’ve kept check of on a Pinterest board.

Today’s post is all about the master suite… Or master bedroom… Or just bedroom! I haven’t decorated a bedroom since I lived back in my family home in 2013 (I actually miss my girly pink bedroom full of photographs of my friends!). But it’s now time to start planning a grown up bedroom, Bradley has said I have full control over what I want the place to look like (he’ll regret saying that), luckily he’s just happy as long as I am.

Lately I’ve fallen in LOVE with the darker colour pallets mixed with white. Navy or dark teal walls with white coving and furniture, really helping the room ‘pop’. Mixing this with beautiful black and white prints and photographs like these which Hanna from LittleSnippets has featured on her blog help personalise and make the room more unique.

Our master bedroom Pinterest board is full of beautiful navy blue walls with wooden floors and overly large rugs, something I think is easily replacated with simplistic design and remembering not to clutter up the spaces (which I am very guilty of). I regularly try to have clear outs because I just seem to hoard everything, lately I’ve been very strict with myself so that we haven’t got too much to pack up and move!

A great way to hide some of the clutter I seem to carry around with me from house to house would to get myself a large (but beautiful) storage solution. Built in wardrobes would be perfect for this, with sliding doors, like these fitted ones Bravo London have wonderfully designed. They have optimum storage solutions in a whole range of colours, patterns, designs and sizes. I love the style and inside organisation of this wardrobe below, the minimalistic design of the doors don’t take too much away from the bedroom itself and help keep everything clean, slick and tidy. It’s something I cannot wait to incorporate into our new home very soon.

What do you think of my hopeful bedroom design? What would you chose to do if you could create a master suite of your dreams?! Built in storage solutions, or something different?

I love interior design. It’s never been something that I thought would like but I really do. Nothing like putting your own stamp on things. I love filling my home of lots of quirky pieces, prints and way too many candles.

I wish I had this much confidence in my interior design. My partner and I are currently private renting so we can’t really do what we want in our house. I can’t wait to see what it looks like after.
