The Christmas Tag – 2017

I was tagged by the lovely Rachael at FromRachaelClaire to join in with this years Chrismas Tag which she created! A light-hearted fun tag to get you all in the Christmas spirit and let you know a little bit more about me and how I do Christmas! I’ve been good friends with Rachael for a little while now and I adore her passion she puts into her blog so make sure you go take a read!

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS MOVIE AND WHY?

My favorite Christmas movie has got to be The Holiday. In fact, it was on television the other night and I made Bradley watch it with me for probably the 100th time. I also really love a bit of Bridget Jones Diary at Christmas time although I know it’s not technically a Christmas film, it just has that Christmas vibe about it… and helloooo Colin Firth!

TOP THREE CHRISTMAS SONGS

01. Last Christmas – Wham

02. Step Into Christmas – Elton John

03. All I Want for Christmas is You – Mariah Carey

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS TRADITION

I don’t particularly think we have any Christmas traditions! Since I’ve been with Bradley we have had Christmas dinner with his large family at mid-day, and then we would drive to my mums for presents, board games and more food (of course!). I guess my tradition would be family,  I try to make sure we get to see everyone on Christmas day, as sometimes it can be difficult since we have three family groups (Bradleys family, my mums and then my dads).

WHAT IS ON YOUR CHRISTMAS BUCKET LIST?

This year my ‘to-do’ is to have this baby! We’re not bothered whether he arrives before or after Christmas, but at some point in the next two weeks would be lovely, please…?

BUDDY THE ELF OR EBENEZER SCROOGE?

I dislike both these films very much… but if you’re asking which character I’m most like I would certainly say Buddy The Elf! I’m SO EXCITED FOR ALL THE CHRISTMAS

BEST THING ABOUT BEING A PARENT AT CHRISTMAS?

I’m not technically a parent as of yet, although there’s still time for me to become one before the 25th, I feel like baby bear is pretty snug in my belly and I don’t think he will make an appearance until the new year. We have had a couple of ‘omg is today the day?‘ where I’ve just felt off and different, but that’s subsided.

ONE GIFT YOU ALWAYS ASKED FOR AS A CHILD BUT NEVER RECEIVED?

I remember one year asking for jelly (yes like a packet of jelly). I must have been very young, but I remember never receiving it… Still breaks my heart to this day. Maybe that’s why I love jelly so much as an adult, trying to mend the heartbreak.

DO YOU HAVE CHRISTMAS EVE TRADITIONS?

Usually, we go round to my mum’s house in the evening, have a few drinks, play some board games and just generally chill. My mum usually always buys me and my sister some Christmas Pyjama’s for us to open on Christmas Eve so that we have some lovely fresh new ones for that night.

WHAT FESTIVE BEVERAGE TICKLES YOUR TINSEL?

I’m not much of an alcohol person, I never have been. I would usually treat myself to a Smirnoff Ice over the Christmas period, but since it’s looking like I’m still going to pregnant I’ll stick to some Appletiser or Apple & Raspberry J20.

BEST PRESENT YOU EVER RECEIVED?

One year I got a HUGE playmobile dolls house, I loved it so so much. I even still had it when I was about 16/17 until I decided to part ways with it. I would ask for new room sets for the house on birthdays and Christmas’s. There were so many tiny pieces, every window had shutters with individual flower pots and petals on. I remember finding tiny little plastic flowers all around the house for years.

SPROUTS ON CHRISTMAS DAY? YAY OR NAY?

Only if they’re cooked by my Nana. She makes the only sprouts I actually enjoy – everyone else’s just taste like farts. But Nana’s are AMAZING. (Shout out to you Nana, I know you’re reading this!)

WHAT IS YOUR IDEAL CHRISTMAS?

Family (No arguments!) – Food – Gift Giving – Christmas Movies – Board Games – Happiness. It’s that simple really.

If you want to join in with this tag just copy the questions above and answer them in a blog post!
